FAQ

Common questions

What appliances does MendSetGo currently cover?

The Phase 0 intake covers dishwashers, washers, dryers, refrigerators, and ranges/ovens.

Where is professional repair available?

The current pilot configuration is limited to select New Jersey counties. The service-area check appears before the full intake so you know immediately whether professional repair is available.

Is the diagnosis guaranteed?

No. The online assessment is preliminary. High-confidence cases can support a firm quote, but model-specific compatibility and the physical condition of the appliance may still need confirmation before work begins.

What does a firm repair quote mean?

It is a price for the diagnosed repair shown before you book, rather than a standard flat price for every job. If the diagnosis materially changes after confirmation, you should be told and asked to approve any change before additional work or charges.

Can I fix the appliance myself?

For suitable cases, MendSetGo may show safe, non-invasive checks and a possible part. Do not perform gas, sealed-system, live-electrical, or other hazardous work unless you are qualified.

How does MendSetGo decide whether repair is worth it?

We compare the repair quote with the replacement value and appliance age you provide. The result is decision support, not a guarantee of future appliance life.

Do I have to give my home address?

Not during diagnosis. We intend to request a service address only if you choose professional repair.

What about photos and model labels?

The live pilot will use secure storage before collecting uploads. Until that connection is in place, the prototype does not store uploaded appliance photos.

What warranty applies?

Eligible professional repairs booked through MendSetGo are intended to have defined workmanship coverage. See the Warranty & Cancellation page; the draft should be reviewed by counsel before public launch.
